Children's Response to Picture Book Sofia the First "Once Upon a Princess"

This thesis studied about children's responses toward picture book of Sofia the First Once Upon a Princess which aimed to find out the positive and negative response of intrinsic element of picture book Sofia the First. This research used descriptive qualitative method in revealing the data. The research instruments were interview sheet and list of questionnaire to get the valid data that 15 children as subject of the research. The writer applied accidental sampling technique to get the respondents. This research revealed that the majority of children gave positive response toward the picture book. This research was presented from percentage by all category of intrinsic elements. The positive response of children of the intrinsic elements showed that children liked pleased, enjoyed, and became happy, enthusiasm, excited and nice responses. The researcher also found that some children gave negative responses which showed the percentage of intrinsic elements. Some of them responded that the picture book was no too attractive, unclear, flatted, unexciting, difficult to understand, unfunny, was not great story and others
